"Two Me's"

Medium: Ceramic, glaze, underglaze, and stain

Dimensions: 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 3 1/4

Why did I choose this?

What inspired me to create my mask was the two “faces” I wear everyday. During the week I am packed with tests and school work which inspired me to create one side of my face to represent the "me" at school. I showed this by creating a piece of ripped homework covering up a part of my face and the word study carved on my forehead. I wanted to emphasize how busy the week can be and the amount of stress a student can have. wanted to also convey that there are such high expectations set towards students and a huge amount of pressure.

The other side of the mask shows the "me" outside of school when I have free time. The number sixteen I put on the right side of my face represents my soccer number. This is important to me because soccer relieves my stress and all my worries that I have throughout the week. Also I put one of my favorite TV show names on my mask because I look forward to watching the next episode each week and relaxing. Both sides of the mask represents me.
